This is where we have years of accumulated expertise, on the Islands of both Honshu and Hokkaido. Since the ''pow" rush of 2005, where Niseko was flooded with "pow" starved Aussie's, Hokkaido and especially Niseko has settled down to be a totally international experience with a lot of Scandanavians, Europeans and Nth Americans all coming for the experience.
With all the hundreds of Resorts in Japan, the Powder seeking Aussies have spread around both Islands to find their own private stashes of "pow". Niseko is worth a re-visit, now that skier numbers have stabilised and more of Honshu and Hokkaido has opened up to the world. For those that are seeking a destination type Holiday, you can stay in Niseko and ski Rusutsu, Kiroro and Tomanu without the hassle of travelling big distances with ski gear. We have often found (now that Rusutsu is known) that you can get fresh tracks in Kiroro (just 20 mins down the road) even if it hasn't snowed for 3 days. Or visit Central Hokkaido Resorts and use Furano as your base to ski untracked snow in the numerous National Park resorts in the area. For those that don't mind travelling to different resorts every other day, you can't beat the shinkansens (Bullet Trains) of Honshu, which provide access to Hundreds of World Class resorts all linked by the fast bullet trains out of Tokyo. Japan is a total package, excellent skiing, people, culture and food.
